Winner 2011 Western Australian Heritage Awards - Restoration to side altars

Well known for its exquisite main and side altars decorated with mother of pearl and countless other shells from the stunning Kimberly region, the Sacred Heart Church in Beagle Bay was completed in 1917. Colgan Industries involvement commenced in 2003 after the bell tower was destroyed in late 2002. We rebuilt the tower and have subsequently returned to assist in damp proofing the church, addressing extensive ‘drummy’ plaster and most recently repairing the shell encrusted altars and paintings.
